Just for Fun...

Waimea Bay is on the island of Oahu and as many of you may know, recently had some huge surf along with the famous Eddie Aikau Invitational Surfing Championships held there.  This event happens only once every 5 or so years due to the size requirement of the surf.  It has to be at least 20 feet to hold the event and this year with the 'El Nino weather pattern going on, the surf cooperated and the event went off spectacularly with some very large and epic 18-20 ft. plus waves pounding through to the beach!  

Hence the inspiration for this painting.

Hey Lynn Not only can you surf but you can paint your world and what inspires you. You also have drawing skills and observe . Great to see what you are doing! I think our work has alot in common. Also have been surfing a long time and used to spend a few months each year in the islands but now live Baja.Check out my work and write back., Its mostly old stuff on there as I don't want to put more money out now as I am planning to start a new one this year that I can control... PS Lynn what size is this piece?. I like the long view format and am trying to get the people I am helping to adopt different especially long view formats. Feels so natural.....

Your paintings of this area are I and my wife's favorites. Are you going to make any prints from these? We would love to have one to put in our bedroom in New York City.
